WX4AKQ QSL Information

We are happy to provide a QSL card for verifiable, recreational RF contacts to the SKYWARN Radio Desk. Here are a few things you need to know:

  • Where to send your QSL: QSL requests should be sent to:
      Howard Waxman WZ4K
      38 Island View Dr
      Newport News, Virginia 23602
      United States
QSL requests sent to the National Weather Service address in Wakefield, Virginia will either not be received or could be delayed a year or longer.
  • What to include: Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you wish to receive a QSL card in return. QSL requests not accompanied by a SASE may go unanswered.
  • Best bet: We prefer electronic QSL's via eQSL.cc. We have adopted electronic logging and all logs will be updated to eQSL within several days.

Note that we do not provide QSL cards for storm reports or other contacts made during SKYWARN activations. Any QSL's received for this type of contact will not be acknowledged.

"Thank You" Card Program

Received an orange, vaguely QSL-like card from us? Look at this FAQ.

Online Logbook and eQSL's

All RF contacts from June 2008 are maintained in ADIF format and are uploaded to HRDLog.net and eQSL.cc. We have limited log data prior to June 2008, based solely on QSL cards found laying around the WFO. This data has not been uploaded to HRDLog or eQSL but is available to us in electronic form for historical reference purposes. VoIP contacts since June 2008 are also included in our offline electronic logs.

The following links will take you to our logs.

  • Electronic Log Book on HRDLog.net
  • Electronic Log Statistics on HRDLog.net
